The course “Socialization of Veterans” from the Community Recovery Academy and UCU: how it was

Two months of training, real stories and practical insights - and our joint course with the Ukrainian Catholic University is nearing completion!

We learned how to create an ecosystem for veterans from Oleh Kobylynskyi, who shared his experience in building veteran infrastructure. Oleksandr Avramchuk gave an in-depth look at the topic of psychological support, teaching us to understand the inner world of veterans.

Timur Abdulin, former manager of the Veteran Hub, spoke honestly about the challenges of employment and real ways to overcome them. And Oleh Levchenko held two separate sessions for us: first, on the art of peaceful dialogue, and then on inclusive decision-making mechanisms, showing us how to combine different views.

Oksana Bryndzak and Andriy Farmuha explained how Teple Misto creates a space for veterans where everyone finds their place. Olga Yakovleva inspired the audience with examples of effective support teams, and Andriy Khimyak explained the mechanisms for raising funds.

Now the participants have completed the practical part and we are preparing to summarize the results.

We are grateful to everyone who was a part of this course. Together, we are taking a step towards communities where veterans are not “objects of assistance” but full participants in life.
