"Mariupol does a huge job that will be the foundation for other communities" - the deputy mayor of Bucha
Such a high rating of the Mariupol Reborn team was given by Deputy Mayor of Bucha Dmytro Cheychuk during the discussion "Principles of restoration of Ukrainian communities" on the Lviv Urban Forum. According to him, the Mariupol team does a huge job that will be the foundation for other communities, which will be on the way of recovery after the victory.
Dmitry Cheychuk also spoke about the experience of Bucha's recovery. He stressed that any recovery strategy should be flexible, and the most important challenge is communication with the population:
It is important to understand that people are injured. So it is difficult to establish communication with people. They address their dissatisfaction with the municipality. And local authorities are limited in funds and opportunities. So now it is important to communicate with people and say in which direction you are moving
The deputy mayor of Bucha noted that the circumstances are dynamic. Therefore, it is important to explain to the community that not all of the planned can be achieved on time and unchanged. He expressed confidence that Mariupol and other communities would be able to recover successfully after de-occupation.
Mariupol Reborn's project is being implemented by the Mariupol City Council with the Investment Support by Rinat Akhmetov's SCM.
