MARIUPOL REBORN OPENS SPACE FOR FUTURE ARCHITECTS
The platform of strategic and architectural modeling "Mariupol Reborn" in Lviv will become one of the bases for training future architects and urban planners under the leading educational program of the Kharkiv School of Architecture (KSHA).
Cooperation will be built on the weekly events of the KSHA. There will also be lectures, master classes, workshops and conferences on the spatial development of cities and issues of post-war reconstruction. The corresponding memorandum on the launch of the educational space was signed between Mariupol Reborn, the CSHA and the Mariupol City Council.
The revival of Mariupol is not about restoring the infrastructure or the visual model. First of all, it is about the return of people to the city. We are looking for an answer to this question together with citizens and partners. The main value of Mariupol is people. And it is for them that we form a plan for the revival of the city. On this way, we are looking for the best practices and the best experts both in Ukraine and abroad. But Mariupol does not only take expertise. He is ready to give it even in these difficult conditions. Signing a memorandum with the Kharkiv School of Architecture is precisely about the willingness to share and give. On the basis of our Mariupol Reborn platform in Lviv, young architects will learn new approaches and adopt the best global practices. Some of their ideas will form the basis of the revival of Mariupol
Potentially, the Kharkiv School of Architecture and its students can be involved in the development of a strategy for the revival of Mariupol and work on projects.
Mariupol has a unique chance after liberation to become not just a beautiful picture of external changes. Mariupol can become an example of quality restoration and transformation of the city around people's needs, values and the best global expertise. We teach our students to work with difficult challenges, but to uphold certain values and principles. They really like complex and interesting projects. This is where our school and Mariupol Reborn can be useful to each other
We will remind you that the launch of the Mariupol Reborn Strategic and Architectural Modeling Platform in Lviv was made possible thanks to the support of partners. The Lviv City Council provided the premises. Rinat Akhmetova's SCM company financed the repair and equipment. Today, as part of the work of the Platform, four urban planning visions of Mariupol from the best Ukrainian and international architectural teams have already been presented.
The SCM company was the first to join the project, because we honestly and frankly love Mariupol very much. Rinat Akhmetov, the founder of the company, did a lot for Mariupol. The company cares not only about the people who work for it, but also about the cities where it works. According to the Soviet system, our cities were built for enterprises. Europe has long since begun to rebuild cities for people. We want the city of Mariupol to be more people-centric after recovery, so that Mariupol is safe, easy and comfortable
