Already 202 families of Mariupol received social housing in the Dnipro
The next turn of setteling of the Mariupol family families to a new social housing, build through the support of the French government and partners of the Mariupol Reborn project, took place in Dnipro. Another 101 families received the keys to studio apartments in the 10th floor premises of Dnipro National University named by Oles Honchar, specially converted to the needs of social housing.
So, in particular, repairs were carried out, the rooms are equipped with furniture, modern household zones, children's rooms, coworking, sports hall were made.In total, 228 families will live in the house, of whom 26 families of university teachers who have IDP status.Most inhabited Mariupols are people of retirement age. They came from different cities: Lviv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Morshyn.
This is the second object that we have fully prepared for our Mariupol familes. However, the need for such housing is much greater - more than 2000 families have asked us to receive social housing. So now we carry out repair work in 5 buildings in the Dnieper, and we plan to scale and expand to several more cities of Ukraine
Financing from the French government was involved in reconstruction. A new transparent model of cooperation was introduced to increase the level of trust by international partners. According to her, the Mariupol City Council is ordered, provides a technical and visual task. And the donor independently chooses the executor, which is conducting tenders, controls the finances.
Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov also supported the implementation of the project. SCM is a permanent partner of Mariupol city council in Mariupol Reborn's project. In particular, the Akhmetov Foundation took part in the reconstruction of the hostels, financed the arrangement in hostels of joint use - kitchens, games, coworking, playgrounds. The power grid has helped restore DTEK and Ukrtelecom provides a high-speed work area.
The opening of this temporary housing center for Mariupols was part of the obligations that Mariupol Reborn team took over a year ago.
