On September 28, in Lviv, on the basis of the Mariupol Reborn Strategic and Architectural Modeling Platform, representatives of 16 communities of Ukraine discussed the issue of spatial development of cities from the strategic level to the planning of specific objects and streets. The mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boychenko, presented a case study of the development of the post-war reconstruction plan of the city - Mariupol Reborn.
Today, we gather international expertise on how different European cities rebuilt after the Second World War. We study their experience in order to avoid big mistakes when forming our own plan. Big cities of Poland have already joined us, Vilnius, Brussels and cities of Great Britain are also among our friends. The main thing is that the experience we have already gained within the Mariupol Reborn project can and should be used for other communities of Ukraine, which also suffered terrible destruction during this war. The algorithms of our Mariupol revitalization project are universal and can be used by other cities. For our part, we are open to dialogue and ready to join forces around development

In particular, the event was attended by representatives of enemy-occupied, war-affected and front-line cities of Ukraine. The project itself was created in order to unite communities that will have to rebuild their cities after Ukraine's victory in the war.
The event was held as part of the first urban residence for mayors and heads of communities, chief architects, heads of departments responsible for architecture, urban planning and housing and communal services. The organizer is the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) and the Institute of the City of Lviv. The idea residence cycle in Lviv is organized by the Cities4Cities United4Ukraine initiative with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
