MariupolReborn.Lviv: The most important about Mariupol and Ukraine
Mariupol should turn from the symbol of the devastating war into an inspiring symbol of the revival of Ukraine - so briefly can express our purpose and our aspirations. To do this, we create projects and events, for this we develop the expanses of Mariupol Reborn, in particular in Lviv.
The platform in the city of Leo was opened in July 2023, and in less than a year it became a kind of hub of ideas, discussions and the cultural center of the temporarily occupied Mariupol.
The main direction of the platform is urban. It is a platform for the presentation of all significant for the reconstruction of Mariupol (and in the example of other territories of Ukraine) after the plans are decomposed. It is here that the most important discussions start, visions are presented and international partnerships are concluded for future work.
The Lviv Platform also develops partnerships that meet our values and goals. In particular, we support the Kharkiv Architectural School, which is currently working in Lviv, providing space for the training of future architects and urbanists.
We have been working with the Mariupol Reborn platform from last year - we have been conducting classes for our students here. During this period, we managed not only to steam, but also to really make friends. The platform team is professional and hospitable. We have one common trouble - the war that destroyed Mariupol and destroys Kharkiv daily. But even more we are united by common goals and interests - the revival and development of Ukrainian cities. We are preparing specialists - architects and urbanists, and we are very interesting about the issues of reconstruction of Mariupol, which are developed within the framework of the large -scale project of Mariupol Reborn. I sincerely hope that our graduates will be able to join in the near future the revival of this heroic city and reconstruction of the native Kharkiv
It is not surprising that the Lviv platform has become a magnet for many ideas from different fields that turn to us to hold their own events or joint events. We are always active: discussions and discussions are replaced by loud emotional silence, large-scale presentations - chamber events.
Our team works closely with the Mariupol Reborn Lviv platform, and I know that colleagues are satisfied. Personally, I participated in a workshop of art therapy, which we conducted here in Lviv. Everything was fine, we really liked it. Very convenient space, we were helped to organize everything promptly, advised where to find the right materials and catering. So, we did not spend time on organizational issues, but were able to pay more attention to important details of the workshop. Such help is very valuable
For less than a year, more than 30 events have taken place on the platform: presentations, lectures, discussions, exhibitions and competitions. The range of topics - from modern urban practices to reflection on war and traumatic experience of Ukrainians. During this time, more than 1500 people became guests. It is not only Mariupol who are currently living in Lviv and Lviv, but also foreigners who visit or work in Ukraine, partners and just good friends of the Mariupol community. People are actively involved in online events.
Today, the space is developing as a significant cultural center. Exhibitions and other artistic events, which are organized by the City of Maria, are constantly held here, including in partnership with foreign appators. The outstanding exhibitions, which were first conducted on the platform, are now traveling in European cities, fulfilling an important mission - to remind of the tragedy of Mariupol and Ukraine, consolidating public opinion and practical assistance around us. Among them are "The mazes of unbreakable cities", "Carefully fragile!", "Mariupol-Gdansk...", "M86" and more. The space is the first in Ukraine to also accept cultural initiatives on Mariupol presented abroad.
In the conditions of occupation of our city for Mariupols, it is important to have a physical space, where they always talk about Mariupol. In the context of war and difficult losses - human, socio-cultural and material, in the context of memory and preservation of the spirit of the city - the most important and valuable that we can now preserve. Culture is one of the most powerful instruments of influence and settling positions on the world agenda. We attach great importance to this direction. Ukrainian culture, whose vivid representatives remain ideologists and tips from Mariupol, deserves to be known in the world to be studied and appreciated by the Ukrainians themselves. And we do a lot about that.
Initiatives that develop on the basis of the Lviv platform Mariupol Reborn are architectural-urban, cultural and social, aimed at preserving Mariupol identity, traditions and peaceful developments of one of the leading cities of Ukraine. They are important in the context of today's struggle and future post-war restoration of the country and temporarily occupied territories. Every time we see how active, creative and devoted to their business people rally around Mariupolreborn.Lve, we feel one step closer to a cherished dream and a specific goal - a free Ukrainian Mariupol, a comfortable and successful city with happy people.
