Mariupols discussed the prospects and priorities of reconstruction of the city after de-occupation
The dialog meeting "I - Mariupol: I have to live!", dedicated to the plan of rapid action after the city de-occupation and post-war revival was held in Kiev. Community representatives and the municipal team discussed the renewal priorities and urgent issues that will need a priority resolution after the city is released.
A new wave of dialog meetings and workshops started on the basis of the local support center "IMariupol": discussed the main stages of Mariupol Reborn plan and identified priority issues that were to be resolved immediately after the city's de-occupation.
We are now working with leading experts and international partners to develop a large city revival plan - Mariupol Reborn. One of its components is a plan for quick action. This is a step-by-step plan of action to stabilize the situation and prepare the foundation for restoration. In particular, restoration of critical infrastructure, key services, etc. Also, the best architects are working on spatial solutions for the city. But the opinion of the Mariupols themselves, their vision of the future Mariupol, is needed. Our goal is to re-build a city by the sea in which it is comfortable to live
During the meeting, which was attended by more than 40 Mariupols, Vadym Boichenko spoke in detail about the rapid action plan after the de-occupation - Fast Recovery Plan and the main stages of the Mariupol Reborn. Subsequently, the participants were able to work in groups and to determine together priorities that need primary attention immediately after the city. The most important are safety, housing, work and overcoming social conflicts. Mariupols seek to return to their hometown, which will establish justice and be given the opportunity to live and work for the future and future of Ukrainian Mariupol.
We have a very large community of Mariupols who are currently living in different cities of Ukraine, we maintain communication with them. And through the humanitarian project "IMariupol", which is supported by the Rinat Akhmetov's Foundation, and through "IMariupol. Housing" is a social housing project for Mariupol, where we turn empty dormitories into full-fledged housing for those who have lost their dwellings. We asked them whether to think about recovery, they said it was very important for them. They want to understand that there is a future for them that someone is taking care of this future and they want to participate in the projection of this future
Such meetings will be held in all cities where IMariupol centers work. So, Mariupols, who live in different corners of Ukraine, have the opportunity to plan the future of their hometown, to participate directly in the development of plans for the revival of Mariupol, which will help to act immediately after the city's return to the Ukrainian flag.
