Portugal has experience in creating social and building a new housing, which can be useful for the Mariupol community and future reconstruction of the city according to the Mariupol Reborn plan

Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boichenko discussed with the deputy of the European Parliament Isabel Santos projects for support of Mariupol. In particular, he told about the current initiatives and shared plans.

It was a network of "IMariupol" centers, which operates in 18 cities of Ukraine and covers more than 62,000 Mariupol's. Also about providing Mariupols with social housing. The pilot project of the Mariupol City Council for the creation of social housing has already been implemented in the Dnipro. The project of reconstruction of two dormitories from Dniprovskiy National University and the National Technical University for 1000 migrants from Mariupol are part of the initiative of Mariupol Reborn and "IMamariupol. Housing". Along the way, the Mariupol City Council was supported by the French government and Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov.

Currently, the municipality team is working to scales the project in other cities where Mariupol's is located. Also at the meeting, the mayor focused on the need to fix the military crimes of russians committed in the city for further establishment of justice.

Together with Ukrainian and international partners, we will fight for every victim, every destruction in our city is recorded, every victim received compensation, and the guilty - punishment. I believe that the European Parliament will help to restore justice and protect the rights of people victims of war

In turn, Isabel Santos expressed words of support to Ukraine and Mariupol. She emphasized the importance of future cooperation. The MP of the European Parliament emphasized that in her country - Portugal, there is experience in creating social housing and building a new housing, which can be useful for the Mariupol community and the future reconstruction of the city according to the Mariupol Reborn plan. Isabel Santos also said that her team is working on resolving the issue of frozen assets of the Russian Federation to ensure that these funds are supported by Ukraine.
